FEBRUARY
Women’s Aging: Options & Attitude
Saturday, February 27th
9:00 - 11:00 AM
The Heritage
2600 S. Heritage Wood Drive, Appleton
(off of Valley Road, between Appleton Road & S. Oneida St.)
Meeting in the small dining room to the right of the reception area.
Light Breakfast will be offered - Coffee, juice, muffins and fruit
Please join us as discuss Women’s Aging: Options & Attitude
with Kristin Marshall of The Heritage and Chris Kniep, Head/Family Living Educator with Winnebago Co. UW-Ext. Today, we have more options and services to assist us as we age compared to grandparents. Aging is part of life, yet we often avoid discussing it until we need to. How do we view and prepare for aging, including our own aging process?
In the book, Another Country by Mary Pipher, there is a quote on aging that begins chapter one. It says, “ The trouble is, old age is not interesting until one gets there.” - Mary Sarton. Aging has been compared to a foreign country with an unknown language to the young and even to the middle-aged. (The book is a good resource for the discussion, but not mandatory.)
